Liability Waiver and Release will be signed on first night of class. Parent or Guardian must be present @ first class.
Explore! Archery is a fun way for participants 8 years and older to learn the basics of Olympic Target Archery in a comfortable indoor air conditioned setting.
Participants will learn basic shooting form and technique, learn about archery equipment, practice range safety / procedures and have a ton of fun doing it!
Explore! Archery programs are taught by certified USA Archery Instructors of the Greater Pearland Archery Club (GPAC).
All equipment will be provided. Arm Guards are included in the price of the Course ($5) and will be the participant's to keep and bring to each class.
Explore! Archery Beginner Course is required to move into the JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) and AAP (Adult Archery Program) programs of Pearland Archery Club.
Arrival: Participant shall arrive at 5:45pm, enter building, sign in and prepare to start session. Session will begin at 6pm. Please Be ON TIME!
Departure: Session will end promptly at 7:10pm. Participant should then clean up, put away gear and exit building. Participants shall exit building by 7:20pm.
Parents may enter building at 7pm to get their child. Please help keep us on schedule, we have a second session that starts immediately after the 6pm group finishes.
Make Up Days:
Explore! Archery session moves quickly. It is 7 days of learning new things each night. If you have to miss a session, please speak to the head coach.
We do not offer Make-Up days for Explore Archery.
We will make all effort to ensure participant can learn all skills taught in session.
Refund Policy: No Refunds Will Be Given after 1 week prior to start. If cancelled before this time, a 10% cancellation fee applies.
Pearland Archery Club will issue any refunds via check. If cancelled after cut off date, a credit will be applied to future Session sign up.
SAFETY: Pearland Archery Club reserves the right to remove any participant from the session and/or program for not following all safety instructions/rules. If removed for safety reasons, no credit will be given for future sessions. Coaches correct and teach safety continuously and expect each participant to follow safety rules at all times.
EQUIPMENT: Pearland Archery Club provides Bows and Arrows for use in all our programs. When participants move into our JOAD/AAP Programs buying personal equipment or using your own is an option.
Archery equipment can be very expensive, please ask question and learn before purchasing.

Pearland Archery Club JOAD/AAP archery programs are open to youth/adults who have either completed one of our Explore! Archery Programs, are transferring from another USA Archery, NASP, or organized target archery program, or have been approved by our Head Coach. All Participants must maintain a current USA Archery Membership and "associate it" with Pearland Archery Club.
Membership is USA Archery allow participation in the Achievement Award program, compete in USA Archery Sanctioned Tournaments and covers our Club Insurances. For information and joining USA Archery see: https://www.usarchery.org/memberships/become-a-member
Participants may borrow club bows and arrows for use in JOAD/AAP at no additional cost. We encourage participants to purchase their own equipment. Please talk to a coach prior to purchase if you have any questions. All equipment must be inspected by Lead Instructor before being used on the range.
Participants must abide by all Club Rules:
Arrival:
Participant shall arrive 10 minutes before start time, enter building and prepare to start session. Get equipment set, put up a target, stretch and be prepared to start on time. If you arrive late, you will wait till arrow retrieval to set up a target.
Departure:
Session will end promptly designated time. Participant should then clean up, put away gear and exit building. Participants shall exit building quickly to accommodate in coming participants or other court users.
Make Up Days:
We understand that participants may need to miss a day here and there. Please contact coaches if you know you will miss and to schedule a make-up day. Make up day availability cannot be guaranteed. If participants miss more than two days without notifying coaches, your spot will be given to an archer on our wait list. A credit will be given for future sessions. Please help us manage our available shooting spots and maximize range usage.
